100 FREE Business/Gift Cards

I just read about this hot deal on Hip2Save and decided to give it a try.

Go to Zazzle and order one of their business cards or gift tags for FREE (up to $16.95).  I couldn't find one I wanted for a gift tag at that price, so I chose this one and paid just $0.80 for 100 of them!

Once you add your item to the cart, proceed through to checkout.  When it asks you for your promo code, enter ZAZSHIPSFREE to get free shipping.  Don't worry, the shipping will still show until the last page where you need to change your shipping to ECONOMY-No Tracking before you finalize your order (this happened after the PayPal page for me).

You can even order the nice gift tags for free, but they only come in packs of 20.  I suggest choosing a normal business card that you like and personalize it as a gift tag so you can get 100 cards for free!

7 Swagbucks- expires 2:00 pm EST

Finally.....a Walgreens POLICY on COUPONS!

It's about time that this was published!  Now our Wags stores can't make up rules as they see fit.  This policy REALLY HELPS the couponer....see the sections about adjusting coupons down and using 2 coupons on BOGO items!  No more.....no, adjusting is COUPON FRAUD....or, you can't use a BOGO on a BOGO item, you'd be getting it for FREE (duh, that's the purpose and the only reason I'm in your store).

See the new policy HERE!  Thanks, Hip2Save for the link.

CVS Clearance & Update

CVS Clearance: Chesnut St/Main St. in Salem

* Vick's (vaporizer or humidifier....I can't recall) - regular price $45, on clearance for $11. They had 2 left yesterday.

* Pantene shampoo/conditioner 75% off (I didn't price check) - there are also $1/1 or $1/2 coupons out there.

* Fitness items

Found these on an endcap before you get to the greeting card aisle.

CVS Update: 221 Cave Spring

Seems as if this CVS is no longer open at 7:00 am. I went yesterday and the place was dark and a new store hours sign appeared on the door showing the hours start at 8:00 am. I was just there last week and heard nothing about this change, so I'm not sure what's going on. Thankfully, the CVS at Ridgewood Farms is still open at 7:00 am, although I really don't like it there because the manager is the only one working in the morning and he isn't very friendly or helpful at all. Oh well, at least he's not a coupon hater.

Food Lion Clearances

Food Lion: 419 in Roanoke

Clearance items:
* Beechnut jar baby food
* TONS of deodorants of every kind...all about $2/ea (I can't imagine paying for deodorant at ALL)
* Tons of HBA items like creams, polish, and makeup
* Carmex lip balm
* One a Day drink mix sticks (box of about 10 I think)

All of these clearance items are in cardboard displays near the dairy section.

DIY: Pasta Drying Rack

So, now that I have my new KitchenAid mixer, my wonderful hubby got me the pasta roller and cutter attachment kit to go with it (and, oh my goodness, it makes making pasta SOOOO much easier).  Well, I had been eyeballing this pasta drying rack on Amazon for the next purchase with my Swagbucks gift cards.  However, I always like to see if I can make something that suits my purposes with what I have laying around or something I can buy for cheap.  So, here's what I did.....

1. Bought a large (3/4" x 6') wooden dowel from Walmart for under $2
2. Used 5 smaller wooden dowels that I had lying around (I think 1/8 or 1/4" x 6')
3. Used a small piece of plywood that we had left over from something and cut it into a 1' x 1' square
4. Cut the large dowel in half and drilled 3-4 holes in different directions along the length of the dowel in the same size as the smaller dowels
5. Cut the small dowels into 2-3 pieces each
6. Screwed the large dowel to the center of the base
7. Inserted the small dowels into the holes of the large dowel

Voila!!!!  I have a pasta drying rack that can easily be disassembled for storage and it only cost me a couple bucks for 2 of them instead of the almost $40 for one of them like below.  If I think about it, I'll take some pictures of mine.  Now, it's not going to win any beauty contests, but who cares.....I didn't spend $40/ea!  And....if I choose, I can paint it or decorate it any way I want to....can't do that with the $40 KitchenAid one.....!

Swagbucks! Score 7 SB's

Go to the Swagbucks blog and read the clue under Music Monday: Sam Cooke. You can do a super easy search to get the answer and win yourself 7 Swagbucks!

Cheap Canning Items

For those of you who can or preserve, you can get some cheap items at Walmart with the coupons from the $1/1 8-1-10 RP coupons on Ball items. The pectin is about $1.56 and the regular mouth lids are $1.50. With the coupon, it makes for some great deals! I'd hold on to the $1/1 Ball case of jars coupon until closer to the expiration date of 9/30....these jars always go on clearance or sale around then.

Good Deals!

For those of you who haven't already done the CVS deal this week for Conair (get $5 ECB wyb any Conair hair or shaving appliances, PSA $4.99).....make sure you check out the store clearance section first.  I found a clearance Conair flat iron for $6.49.  So, after my $5 ECB, I only paid $1.49 for a good flat iron (I'm thinking Christmas present for my daughter).  There were also some nice curling irons with heat shields for about $7.69....great price for a name brand hair tool!

Also, if you haven't already done the Crest Pro-Health rinse deal yet ($5 ECB wyb $10 Crest/Oral-B/Scope products)....keep an eye out for bonus bottles.  I found a 1L bottle that had a bonus night rinse bottle attached.  I crossed my fingers that this one would produce the ECB too and it did!  Don't forget to use the $2 coupon from the 8/1 PG.

Good news for those of us doing the Soda Pop Dessert Topper deal at Kroger.  There is no limit to how many catalinas you can do in one order.  I bought 4 bottles @ $2.79/ea, used (4) .55/1 coupons from the 6/13 SS and received (4) $2.50 OYNO catalinas.  That's a $0.26 MM each!  Anyone had the guts enough to try and see if these catalinas roll yet???  I wasn't able to find these at the Kroger on Brambleton across from the car wash at Ridgewood Farms, however....Lakeside and Cave Spring Krogers both carry these.

Restaurant Coupons

I wanted to try Restaurant.com before I posted about it and I can tell you I had a GREAT experience with them.  One of the sites I regularly read posted about an 80% coupon code for restaurant.com, so I decided it was time to give it a try.

I didn't immediately recognize the participating restaurants in our area that were listed, but thought that this is a great time to try something new since I had a date night with my hubby coming up.  I chose a $25 gift certificate to Fork in the Alley.

Here's how it worked:
  • Restaurant.com $25 gift certificate normally costs $10 for this restaurant.
  • Using my 80% off coupon code, I ended up paying just $2
  • As soon as you purchase the gift certificate, you can personalize it and send it to someone else or just print it off for yourself.
  • This restaurant required you to have a $35 minimum order and most all of them add an automatic 18% gratuity to the check.
  • So, we had an appetizer, our 2 meals and drinks as well as a dessert and our bill came to $42 (without tip).
  • Using the gift certificate, it brought our total to $21 and added $3.25 tip.  I added another $4 for a tip and we had our entire $48 meal ($41+$7 tip) for just $30 ($21+$7 tip+$2 gift certificate cost).
  • That was an $18 savings over what we would have paid anyway without the gift certificate!
We've also found a new restaurant that we love on top of the savings!

Right now there is a 50% off code: SUNNY

Bon appetite!

Food Lion Clearance

The Food Lion on 419 had jars of baby food for .40/ea.  I think it was Gerber, but not sure.  I have no idea if this is a good price or not, so I hope it helps someone.
