Food Lion Inventory Alert- 3/25/10

Food Lion- Taco Bell Dinner Kits

Ok, so I didn't want to post this until the new sale week rolled around to make sure that this deal will still work this week, and until I tried it a couple times because it seemed to be hit and miss with some people around the country. Here's the details:

Catalina:
Taco Bell Home Originals
Dates: 3/12 - 4/4
Spend: $4-5.99, get $1.00 OYNO
Spend $6-7.99, get $2.00 OYNO
Spend $8 or more, get $3.00 OYNO

Items shown on picture: 12 taco shells, season packets, con queso cheese, picante sauce/salsa.

Deal:
The 12 hard shell dinner kits seem to be working for this deal as well. Make sure to do it in this way or you probably won't get the catalina......

~ Buy (2) 12 count hard shell dinner kits (on sale 3/$5 or $1.66/ea)
~ After your order has been totaled, give the cashier your MVP card
~ A catalina for either $2 or $3 should print out after you pay (I've gotten both values for buying the same items??)
~ Depending on the cat you receive, your total paid for the 2 items will be $0.66/ea or $0.16/ea

You can roll these OYNO coupons into another of the same transaction, but remember not to give your coupons or cards until after your order has been totaled. The catalina seems to go off of the price as it's scanned, and giving your MVP card after the fact causes it to scan at full value and then take the discount off at the end.

Thanks to all4katelyn on HCW for the deal/sale alert

Free Visine Update - CVS

Referring to the $2.00 off coupon posting:

The $1.99 Visine's were at the cash registers of the Salem Lakeside CVS store. I tried looking for them in the travel section, but they weren't there. As I was checking out with my armful of deodorants, I spotted them on a hanging display right in between the two registers. I assume the other CVS's will be much the same.

Kroger Coupon Policy

Posted 3/9/10

Ok, so for several months now Kroger has been working on an unwritten 2 IP's per product type. What that means is that I CAN'T use 4 IP's for FiberOne yogurt, but I CAN use 2 IP's on the FiberOne, 2 on Activia, 2 on Kellogg's, 2 on Toaster Strudels, etc, etc in one transaction.

Bridget emailed me last week to tell me Kroger received an e-mail and was now implementing a 2 IP per order policy. I also seem to remember someone else in the area posting about this same issue. I went to Kroger several times last week and over the weekend without any problems having more than 2 IP's per order.

Today I was greeted by the "2 per order policy" by a cashier who was very nice. I explained to her that the policy had always been 2 per product type and not per order and I was just there last week without issue. She said she couldn't do it but she could ring the others up in a separate transaction. I took her up on that offer and everything worked out fine for me this trip.

However, there have now been more than two of us in the area hearing this story, so it may be worth keeping in mind. This could really mess up the works if you need multiple IP's to reach a Catalina goal in one order. If this is the case, you can either speak with the manager before you shop to show him the coupons you have and the individual security codes that are on each or you can just take your chances at the checkout line.

As with anything, though, it depends on the cashier and the mood he/she is in at the time.

WooHoo...Another Win at Kroger!

Remember this game I told you about last week...well, I have won again. Today I won a FREE Maxwell House coffee <=39oz loaded to my Kroger card.

You can only win twice, so I have reached my limit of free stuff, but you can log in every day for an entry to the grand prize drawing of a Pop-a-Shot machine. I don't think I could fit this thing in my house, but I am sure the church would like it!

FREE Veet at CVS

Veet is on clearance for $2.75 at CVS (at least the 419 Ridgewood Farms store). If you go to another CVS, make sure to price check it first as there were no signs on the shelf showing it was on clearance.

There are $3.00 off coupons here, making this FREE! The cashier will have to adjust the coupon down, which is okay according to CVS policy and the register will beep and tell them the max value they can use the coupon for.

Thanks, partymagic at HCW

Warning on Walgreens Dr. Scholl's Deal

I tried to do this Dr. Scholl's deal today at the 419 Wags, but the in-ad coupon would not work for the heel or ball of foot inserts like Jenny at Southern Savers suggested to do. The picture on the coupon is for the full size insole, and although the coupon doesn't specifically state it has to be the full insole it beeped at the register and would not go through.

I just had the items voided off of my order and the coupons returned to me, so I wasn't out that awful much in the transaction, but I wanted you all to be aware of this.

Free Milk (and Coffee) at Kroger

Posted 3/8/10

In the 3/7 SS, there is a .50/1 Shamrock Farms milk coupon. These individual serving milks are on sale right now for 3/$2 (.66/ea), making them FREE after doubling at Kroger. Regular price is $1.39/ea I think, so even without the sale, it would be cheap.

Don't forget the .50/1 Nescafe Taster's Choice coupons from last week's SS insert. You can score the stick packs of coffee for only .09/ea afer coupon doubles.

March to Savings at Kroger

Bridget (a follower of the blog) told me about a great link on the Kroger site.

There's a game you can play for free products to be added to your Kroger card. I won a California Kitchen pizza the first time I played. Bridget won a free lunchables. You can play every day until 4/6/10.

The March to Savings sale apparently is not going to be valid in our area (according to a manager at the Ridgewood Kroger that Bridget spoke to), but we can still get the great free prizes added to our cards!

Thanks, Bridget

Good Walgreens Deals

I haven't been posting Walgreen's deals and coupon match-ups because there are so many sites out there that do it and it's just not getting used here (it takes a lot of time to do them). BUT, there are a few deals that are so good I needed to share:

Buy 6 Kleenex (80, 85, 100, or 200 pk) at 2/$2.19
Use (2) .50/3 from the 2/28 SS (inserts are still available to get for those of you who can get the Cave Spring Connection).
Total due: $5.57
Get back: $3 RR
Final price: $0.42/ea

Buy 2 Aveeno lotions 2.5 oz on sale for $2.39/ea
Use (2) $1/1 coupons from the Aveeno website (must register), or use the $2/1 printables available from Coupons.com a while back (no longer available).
Total due: $2.78 (with $1 q's) or $0.78 (with $2 q's)
Get back $3 RR
Final price: $0.22 MM to $2.22 MM

Buy 2 Motrin PM 20-24 ct on sale for $2.99
Use 1.50 Motrin coupon from March coupon booklet (will take off $3)
Use $3/2 from 11/22 SS
Total due: -0.02 (you'll need to do this in conjunction with other items to absorb the overage without beeping)!

This one I haven't tried yet because the Salem store was out of it today:

Buy 2 Nivea lip care products at $3.99/ea
Use B1G1 coupon from 2/7 RP (takes off $3.99)
Use in-ad coupon (will take off $6)
Total due: -$2.01 (you'll need to do this in conjunction with other items to absorb the overage without beeping)!

Free Purex at Walgreens

Posted 3/1/10

Walgreens has the Purex 2x liquid- Mountain Breeze and Natural Elements Linen- 50 oz. on a buy one at $5.99 get one FREE mega-saver sale all month long! Combine this sale with the buy one get one FREE coupon from the 2/21RP to score 2 for FREE!

Keep in mind that we did not get this coupon in the Roanoke Times, but you may be able to get some from Ebay or a coupon clipping site. I have fuond that doing a BOGO sale with a BOGO coupon at Walgreens is a 50/50 chance of it working out. This ISN'T against store policy or any coupon rules, just some cashiers at Walgreens act funny about it.

Here are some tips:
1. If you have it as part of a larger order, you're more likely to get the coupon accepted.
2. If the cashier balks, just leave without purchasing anything (get your coupon back). Try again later.
